Ava Gordy

Ava Gordy grew up dancing in Chicago, Illinois at the age of three with a focus on ballet. She danced in the children's cast of Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker in 1999 and 2000. She attributes her knowledge and talent to her training under the late Larry Long at The Ruth Page Center. There, she was taught in a myriad of different styles including Vaganova and Cecchetti. Ava eventually joined their studio company, Civic Ballet of Chicago, where she performed demi-soloist roles in The Nutcracker and Glasonouv Suites. She briefly lived in Wellington, New Zealand and studied The Royal Academy of Dance and was a junior associate at The New Zealand School of Dance. After graduating high school, Ava went on to the graduate program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater where she performed alongside the company in The Three Musketeers and The Nutcracker. Most recently Ava performed choreography by Kelly Alvarez which was awarded People's Choice and Grand Prize winner of the 2016 Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival. She is very excited to continue working and performing with Kelly.
