Jonathan Kim is currently a dance major at Cal State University, Fullerton, under the direction of Debra Noble, Gladys Kares, and Alvin Rangel. He has performed in productions of the Nutcracker with American Pacific Ballet Company and Nouveau Chamber Ballet in Orange County, with Embark Dance Theatre, directed by Amy Tabback and Kelsey Jenson, and with Vicious Circle Dance Company, led by creator Valerie Cabag. Jonathan also performed in Lineage Dance Company's production of Ceiling in the Floor in New York City and received an honorable mention for student performance at the American College Dance Association's 2016 National Festival for August, choreographed by Colin Connor. He had the honor of working with Dale Merrill, Muriel Joyce, Lisa Long, Macarena Gandarillas, Robin Johnson, Courtney Ozovek, Joshua Estrada-Romero, Bryn Cohn, and Daniel Jaber while at school. He also recieved a scholarship in 2014 to attend the Backhaus Dance Summer Intensive, studying under Jennifer Backhaus and other company members. He hopes to continue exploring the art form of dance and its connection to the human experience.
